Karrin May

Karrin leads the asset management and finance functions for Axial, with responsibility for the oversight of operational and financial performance for the firm’s investments. She started her career in real estate in 2004 with Minneapolis-based Shelter Corporation. With her education and previous experience in accounting, individual and business taxes, she quickly rose to the role of Vice President of Finance. By the time she left in 2019 to join Axial, the company had $525 million in assets under management including multi-family as well as senior living properties. During her 15-year tenure at Shelter, Karrin led her team while the organization successfully built and launched The Waters Senior Living. Karrin bridged her time between Shelter and Waters, demonstrating her unique ability to manage significant volumes of information and processes without compromising detail or accuracy.

Karrin is an alumna of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, Carlson School of Management where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business, Accounting degree.
