Axial Real Estate Advisors LLC (Axial) is a Minneapolis-based real estate investment and advisory firm specializing in acquiring and managing residential and commercial real estate investments for high net worth individuals and family offices.
The firm, previously known as Dougherty Real Estate Equity Advisors (DREA), is an outgrowth of its past ownership by Minneapolis-based Dougherty Financial Group, which sold several of its businesses to Colliers International Group. At the time of that transaction, senior management of DREA was given the opportunity to acquire DREA as a stand-alone entity and rebrand it as Axial Real Estate Advisors. The principals of Axial are proud of this heritage and the long-standing relationships with friends and colleagues at Dougherty, now Colliers Mortgage. The two firms will continue to collaborate within their respective debt and equity platforms.
The firm’s name comes from the “Axial Age,” a pivotal and transitional time in history marked by consequential advances in thought and philosophy. This was the time when Confucius, Plato, Socrates and others completed some of their most influential work. We adopted this name to reflect our belief that today’s investment climate requires the same depth of thought, wisdom and clarity achieved in similarly dynamic times.
Our firm’s goal is to generate strong, risk-adjusted returns for our investors and clients from opportunities that range from development and value-add to stabilized. While headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, our past experience and long-standing relationships allow us the ability to source, evaluate, acquire and manage assets in most markets across the country. Our investment expertise includes office, industrial, retail, multi-family, hospitality and senior housing properties. We are focused currently on multi-unit residential opportunities that benefit from strong demographic trends and resilient local economies, with a particular emphasis on senior housing. We will selectively consider industrial and commercial investment opportunities that demonstrate inherent market advantages.
